A GREEN EARTH OR A DRY DESERT?
There may still be time to choose.
For millions of years, the tropical rainforests of South East Asia, South America, and Africa have been the earth's natural chemical laboratories, botanic gardens and zoos.
Today we are destroying them at such a rate that within 25 years only fragments will remain of the vast forests of Malaysia and Indonesia.
When the trees are felled, soil erosion begins and within a few years, the whole area that was once forest becomes wasteland.
The destruction is happening through ignorance, shortsighedness and ever increasing consumer demand. But it can be stopped if enough of us show enough concern.

The average 1 minute shower uses 5 liters of water.
11,5 % of all fresh water is found in Brazil. 70 % of that in the American region.
If all of the planet's water were put in a 2 liter bottle, only 6 mil would be potable.
80 % of illegal wood extracted in the Amazon is sold in Brazil.
In 2003, Brazil recycled 89 % of its total production of aluminium cans, a percentage greater than of countries such as the UK and the USA.
Atividade 2 – Faça um painel utilizando gravuras, fotos, desenhos, bem como termos em inglês com o tema 'Greening and saving my environment”.
